If you’re reading this, it’s a pretty safe assumption that you know something about cycling, and probably bike racing. And chances are you’ve heard about some of the great American cyclists – Greg LeMond, Davis Phinney, and of course, Lance Armstrong. But where did these guys come from? How did they become paid, professional bike racers? It didn’t just happen overnight; they had to work through the ranks of cycling to become the legends that they are. Just like Minor League Baseball, or college hoops, cycling has it’s own stepping stones in local, grassroots bike racing. And that’s where the BRC Real Estate Cycling Team p/b Broadnet fits. We are one of the top Colorado grassroots racing teams, and our hope is that we can provide the structure to help our racers take their bike racing as far as their minds and bodies can take them.
We welcome BRC Real Estate and Broadnet in their first year of sponsorship. But as a team, we have existed since 2005; for five years we were sponsored by a Colorado physical therapy clinic. We achieved a lot in those years, and now we’ve stepped it up to the next level. With the help of generous sponsorship from BRC Real Estate, Broadnet, TrainingPeaks, and Specialized, we are able to expand our elite cat 1 and 2 team, develop a mountain bike racing squad, and expand our women’s team. Our roster stand at 45 racers; we have ten elite category 1 and 2 racers, fifteen category 3 racers, eleven category 4 men racers, and five strong ladies on our growing women’s team. You will see us at all of the Colorado ACA races, in addition to national-caliber racers such as Tour of the Gila, Cascade Classic and many others.
We’re proud of our accomplishments and there is no doubt that 2010 will be our best year yet! We look forward to seeing you on the road and at the races. Thanks for your support!
