March 5th kicks off the local race scene with an 11.4 mile mostly flat time trial which is on the east service road between exits 288 and 281, completely exposed. Last year the TT had relatively warm weather for an early winter morning and also saw some wicked southern winds. The southern wind provided a wicked tail wind on the way out. After a week of heavy snow and frigid temperatures, the warming trend was more than welcome. The race isn’t for a couple of months but it was a good way to get in 4+ hours of riding while also getting excited about the first big road race. This road race is replacing the Boulder Roubaix race and it is actually a very different race, so in my opinion it is just taking its place on the calendar.
